Mr. Sun Circle Time DIY Music Prop

Have you ever held a circle or story time and you felt like something was missing? Yes? Me too. Nearly every time. Well, that's not a problem any more! Create your very own story time and circle time props. This project will give you a taste for how to do so for the song Mr. Sun, Sun, Mr. Golden Sun. And, I bet, after you create this precious prop you will be itching to make more. Oh, and hey, I made a few videos of how to use this prop (and some of its friends too) on my video page. Materials Needed:

Scissors

Paper (can be recycled)

Yellow Paint

Gold Paint

Glue- Elmer's School Glue or Glue Stick

Paint Brush (We used a sponge Brush)

Scotch Tape

Popsicle Stick (We re-used a Popsicle stick from our art supplies. You could use a new Popsicle stick, a stick from outside, a Chopstick, or Dowel).

Step 1: Cut two circles out of the piece of paper. Make one of the circles larger than the other.

Step 2: Using the paint and paint brush paint your two circles yellow and gold.

Step 3. Place a small amount of glue in the center of the larger painted circle. Place the second (smaller) circle on top. Press together.

Step 4: With the scissors fringe the edges of the larger circle.

Step 5: Grab that tape and pull off a few pieces. Attache the pieces to the Popsicle stick. Turn your circles face down and press the Popsicle Stick with the tape into the back of the circle to secure. Add more tape to secure as needed.
